99 Problems – With a Shared Root Cause

There are more than 99 Problems with the media as a root cause. Way more.

Genocide, ecocide, menticide, division, hatred, all fuelled by billionaire opinions and a disastrous media ownership model giving the 1% all the power.

But then Jay-Z (he wrote a song called #99 Problems, which is where we got our inspiration from) was probably using an estimate too.

This campaign features protesters – (maybe even you?) – revolving a double-sided placard.

One side is written in the voice and style of the malignant media – including lies and disinformation. The protester then revolves the placard to reveal a more accurate headline – the kind of coverage needed to help inform and educate people about the real issues in our world – the kind of thing you’d hear from movement media.

#99PROBLEMS – Focus Stories so Far

Here are a selection of the first problems posted about as part of the campaign. There are many more to come – and you can take part too.

Coming soon: A Media Revolution for Animals, A Media Revolution for Regulation, A Media Revolution for Reparations, A Media Revolution for Water, A Media Revolution for Congo, A Media Revolution for Disability Rights and many, many more.

The malignant media affects every issue. Leaving no one safe from its systemic othering. That’s why we seek to unite people affected, and collaborate the responses, to bring about a Media Revolution.
